On Saturday 6 June, we will bid farewell to the exhibition A Face and Its Gaze: Portraits from the Charles H. Cecil Studios with an afternoon dedicated to tradition and how young people uphold and keep it alive. At 5.30 pm, Vita Van Linge will talk about her research into the great friendship between Vernon Lee and Sargent (in English). Dana Matthews is a painter and photographer from New York, who was in residence at Il Palmerino in the spring of 2026. Born in Alabama, Dana has a special connection to the land and environment which she brings into her work. As the first artist in her family Dana explored painting and photography on her own to discover her passion. Pamela Tucker: Still-life painter at Il Palmerino
In March and April 2026, Il Palmerino was delighted to host the artist Pamela Tucker, a still- life painter, who came to the estate recommended by her gallery in New York City. Art has always played an important role in Pamela’s life. She graduated from college in Art History, worked for years as a Graphic Designer, and most recently has dedicated herself to painting. Have your writing displayed with art! Join us on May 24 for a day of art, writing, and brunch, featuring artists from Charles H. Cecil Studios. Come to Il Palmerio to explore communication through art by writing a short story inspired by one of the portraits being showcased. Two writers, two women, two stories Serena Cenni will present her two short stories, "Miss Grief" and "Lady Tal"– recently published by Marsilio – in conversation with the curators Giovanna Mochi and Benedetta Bini. The stories explore the fascinating challenge faced by two female artists as they sought to make their mark in the male-dominated publishing world of the 19th century.
