Images and trajectories of a 19th century diva: Adelaide Ristori (1822-1906)

Ristori's is an extraordinary female experience. The daughter of modest theatrical actors, she walked the stage as a child. Together with her husband, Giuliano Capranica marchese del Grillo, she started a highly successful theatrical partnership and a career that soon revolved around long tours around the world. The devices, images and paths of an early global celebrity will be the focus of the conversation.

Carlotta Sorba teaches Cultural History of the Contemporary Age at the European University Institute and the University of Padua.
