The iniciative intends to honour the memory of Marilena Mosco and her contribution as an art historian, through a re-examination of some of her writings and of the most significant exhibitions she curated.

The event brings together scholars, friends, and colleagues who shared research paths and cultural projects with her, offering an opportunity to reflect on her scholarly and intellectual legacy

1- Introduction:

• Cristina Acidini: President of the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno.

• Alessandra Baroni: Vannucci, President of the Classe di Storia dell´Arte, A.A.D.Fi.

• Giovanna Giusti: art historian.

• Valentina Mosco: daughter and historian.

2- Presentations:

• Carlo Sisi, art historian: "L'amica geniale"

• Helen Manner, art historian: "Marilena (Maria Maddalena) Mosco e le sue Maddalene: passione e indentitá"

• Stefano Casciu, art historian: "Tra Musei e Mostre: la passione e l'inventiva di una grande storica dell'arte"

3- Musical interlude: Martina Weber, viola da gamba.

• Jennifer Celani, art historian: "Cornici che cantano: la visione di Marilena del collezzionismo mediceo"

• Giovanna Uzzani, art historian: "Storie d'arte e controversie d'amore"

This event takes part in the "Esplorazioni" series promoted by Associazione Culturale Il Palmerino APS and Calliope Arts, with the support of Comune di Firenze, in collaboration with "L'archivo della memoria e della scrittura delle donne Alessandra Contini Bonacossi" and is part of the Estate Fiorentina 2026.
