The ‘secret paintings’ of Federigo Angeli were presented for the first time at a 2009 monographic exhibition dedicated to the painter held at the Regional Council of Tuscany’s Palazzo del Pegaso. This exhibition catalogue comprises a critical essay by art historian Marco Moretti, which shines a light on the life and art of Florentine painter Federigo Angeli (1891-1952). This 2009 show featured mostly unpublished artworks, which were personal pieces rather than commissions, and they now form part of the private collection of Angeli’s heirs.
